It says the coach cut him because he couldn't field a bunt.

Are you sure you gave up sniffing glue ??

My response was to KB for his response to Spark when Spark asked him about the chances of winning with this kid throwing 80 mph.

I was aware of that, but so few facts are known. Maybe a senior would have to be cut so this kid could be on the team? Is that fair, especially if the senior is better? He can be an inspiration as a student manager, and try out again next year.

If the kid can't field his position why have hiom on the team. It will not help his self esteem pitching him only in games where the team is winning or losing by 10 runs. As I stated earlier this isn't a bunch of 6 year olds playing tee ball.

My nephew has a teammate on his high school basketball team who is physically challanged and that does not stop the coach from putting him into the game at any time.

His team stands by him and they know sometimes he'll get beat on the dribble but they always help out on defense & not 1 of those kids ever complain about him in the game. They set numerous picks and try to get him the ball to shoot because they want to see him score whenever possible without caring about if they are winning or losing at the time.

Sounds like a bunch of liberal pussies of a team to me to be honest.

                  No offense

I've been reading a little about this on other web pages. I wish we new the whole story. Here's a couple more facts.
25 players were cut from the team.
He was offered a managing postition with the team after he was cut.
Covering a bunt is just one part of the game he was challenged at.
Covering first on a ground ball to the right side.
                    Backing up third and home.

I'll bet that you'll hear about this kid again. His form looks real good on the mound; stride, arm angle & release. If he busts his ass & works on these things mentioned, he'll be there next year.

Maybe he can play on the JV team & get some experience.

Boy, I have mixed feelings on this, but the greater part of me says if he wasn't good enough to make the team so be it. If 22 kids make it why should kid #22 not make to allow a "feel good" story to make it? As the kid even said, I would think anyone with a handicap would want to make the team on merit, not as a sympathy case. To many diabled people it would be more insulting to make the team just b/c you are disabled and a good story than getting cut b/c you weren't good enough.
