  • Maurkice Pouncey officially ruled OUT

Steelers C Maurkice Pouncey (ankle) has been ruled out for Super Bowl XLV after missing Friday's practice.

All along, Pouncey (and perhaps Mike Tomlin) was the only guy thinking he had a chance to play. Doug Legursky will get the start against Green Bay's smoking-hot defensive line as Pittsburgh gears up to use four projected backups along the front five. Pouncey's high sprain and left ankle break is likely a several-week ordeal, but he'll be fine by the usual start of OTAs.

Can't say that I am shocked. Really didn't think he was going to play.

This just in from Cowboys Stadium--------------------------

The Pittsburgh Steeler's Center M. Pouncey removed the cast from his ankle and tried to practice on the field today.

After a vigorous 6 hour Stationary bike exercise Pouncey got into the huddle, turned around and got to the line of scrimmage.
He Bent over grabbed the ball and snapped a crisp snap to QB Ben Rothlesberger, stepped back wards and tripped over Ben's size 23" shoes and broke his right arm.

He is now listed on the injury reserve and the Steeler's made a deal with owner Jerry Jones and picked up 9 year veteran and All Pro Andre Gurode for the Super Bowl.

This deal just got past through the Commissioners office and ESPN will report it 15 minutes before kick off on Sunday, Feb 6, 2011.
