I wont miss him, he jumps on the bandwagon faster than Dimer on a cheeseburger

When the right NFL job offewr comes, he will jump back. Kids should be on notice when they go to that college he coaches.

Jon Gruden affirms ESPN committmentEmail Print Comments77 ESPN.com news services

ESPN football analyst Jon Gruden said Sunday night that he isn't leaving ESPN.

"I am committed to Monday Night Football and to ESPN," Gruden said in a statement. "I enjoy working with Mike, Jaws and our entire crew and am just trying to get better at this job."

Earlier Sunday, the South Florida Sun Sentinel, citing a University of Miami source, said Gruden initiated talks for the Hurricanes' open coaching position.

Miami fired Randy Shannon on Saturday night, hours after Miami lost to South Florida in its regular-season finale. The Hurricanes fell to 7-5, still have yet to play for an Atlantic Coast Conference title and lured only 26,369 fans -- many of them rooting for the visitors -- to Sun Life Stadium on Saturday, the smallest home crowd since Larry Coker's last home game in 2006.

The Associated Press, citing an anonymous source, reported that Gruden, the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach, is atop Miami's wish list to fill the position and that Gruden received "parameters" of an offer from the Hurricanes.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Money talks though. Gruden might be saying no right now but Miami needs a big name to turn that program around.Gruden would be a hell of a coach for the canes. I think in the next couple of days they give him an offer he can't refuse.

Please, Please, take the job and Leave the MNF booth. This way I can once again watch a MNF game with volume. Every person on the field that makes a play is the best at something. Man does that drive me crazy.

I don't agree with evrything he says but for the most part I think he does a good job on MNF. He is still new at it too. If he stays on with ESPN he will be there for along time.He brings alot of knowledge and alot of fire to the booth

Agree to disagree. Running back A runs the ball up the middle. Gains 4 yards. Gruden - You know I spent some time with him this week and he is in my opinion the best at getting those runs between 3 and 5 yards. Next play quarterback goes back to pass and the ball is deflected by a defensive lineman and then intercepted. Gruden - You know I have been watching film and that defensive lineman is perhaps the best at getting his hands up once he makes no penatration. I don't think anyone is better at doing this than defensive lineman x. LOL,,,it is so painful, let's count tonight how many players on the two pathetic teams are the best at something....listen and you will believe.

He may be waiting to see if the 49er job opens up, but I think Chucky would be great at Miami....he could recruit just by showing up and he'd bring the swagger back for sure. In the end, I think he waits for the right NFL job to open up.

As a VT fan, I'd hate to see this happen. I think he's exactly what they'd need to become a relevant program again. I miss Randy Shannon already.

As a Miami fan, I would love him to be the next HC. Not sure it will happen though as I think he really enjoys the MNF gig. Until Miami gets a legit HC and a legit QB, they will be Louisville-like year in and year out.

Being a million fuckin times better than dennis miller or tony kornhole is only a slight improvement.
Gruden runs his head just to hear himself talk. Prolly sets his alarm clock for 3am so he can wake up and talk to himself...
