Titans claim WR Randy Moss off waivers

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—The Tennessee Titans have claimed wide receiver Randy Moss(notes) off the waiver wire.

Tennessee passed on Moss in the 1998 NFL draft, choosing instead to take Kevin Dyson.

Coach Jeff Fisher said three hours before the waiver deadline that the Titans never discuss personnel moves or their interest. But he says everyone would know around 4 p.m. EDT Wednesday.

Moss can help a team that has not won a playoff game since January 2004, and receiver Kenny Britt(notes) hurt his right hamstring last week and will miss the Titans’ game Nov. 14 at Miami.

The receiver going to his third team this season will be welcomed at least initially. Safety Michael Griffin(notes) tweeted “welcome Randy Moss” and All Pro running back Chris Johnson had been lobbying for the Titans to pick up Moss as well.

Over under on how long he will be there?

      6 weeks under for me!

If anyone runs a tight ship it is Fisher IMO. I hope he makes it I really do but would not be surprised for him to be Moss....

I think Moss will play hard for a coach he respects. I think Fisher is one of the few coaches out there that he will. Tennessee is one of the few teams where I thought this might work. Titans to the Super Bowl to take on the Michael Vick led Eagles

I don't think the guy will ever learn. Look at long this has been going on with him. Chris carter tried to take him under his wing before he retired and it obviously went in one ear and out the other. If Tennessee starts losing games he's going to bitch.

I agree that TN and Fisher are about the perfect landing spot and that Moss will respect Fish. With that said, he will have to get some action to be happy. If he is playing the same decoy role he played in Minny and N.E. then he will eventually be a malcontent. As a fantasy owner of Moss I hope he can produce.
