Not surprised. I think they win it with that 1-2 punch of Halladay & Oswalt and that offense to go with it too.

savage, you said it. The Yanks and Rays are a crap shoot with 2 other very good teams in Minny and Texas. I have no clue who represents the A.L. but i feel pretty good that Philly can get there and the easier path clearly makes them the favorite.

          Where did you get those?

          Pinnacle has the Phils -101.

You guys know I'm an extremely pessimistic Phillies fan, but I gotta say if they don't win it this year, I'm gonna be extremely upset. I didn't get too pissed when they lost to the Stanks last year in the WS, but I will be pissed if they don't win the WS this year. IMO, they are hands down the best team in baseball. When you consider DOC, Oswalt, and Hamles can potentially pitch 17 of the 19 playoff games ON NORMAL REST, there is really no excuse for not winning the WS.

I have 3 ? marks with Philly that IF they lose, will be the reason IMO. Health of guys like Rollins, a bullpen that has been very shaky at times and Hamels. He can be so inconsistent at times. If Halladay or Oswalt loses a game because the bullpen blows a game and Hamels is anything but sharp, i can see them going down 2-1 in a series.

As for Rollins, I'm hoping Manuel doesn't bat him leadoff...maybe 6th or 7th and he should be ok.

I understand the concerns about the BP, but if the starters can go 7, Madson and Lidge have been solid so they should be able to hold it down (knock on wood).

As for Hamels, granted he isn't at '08 form, I think he's far removed from '09 form (knock on wood again). Considering he's the #3, I think he'll be fine.

As we all know, crazy shit happens in the MLB playoffs so they could lose to the Reds and I wouldn't be shocked, but again, based on what they have going right now, they should win it all.

                    Reds +225
                    Phils -247

                    Braves +143
                    Giants -155

ALDS Series Prices (according to Pinnacle)

                    Rangers +163
                    Rays -177

                    Yanks -156
                    Twins +144

That Giants price looks like a joke to me.

Its just unusual to see a NL team favored to win the WS.
I wonder if Yankees and Rays hadn't played so poorly of late, whether the odds might be at least a little different.
I agree with Wayne that on paper anyways Philly appears to have the easier path to even get to the WS.
They have also played well against all three of the other teams in the NL Playoffs and have a ton of experience over all of them as well has having won a WS very recently.
I think it will be Rays and Phils who play in WS but don't bet your house on it-as Yankees found out until last year, strange things can and do happen sometimes in the playoffs.
