  • What You Think??

I was at the game and everyone in the stands, even after the replay was shown, were saying it was a TD.

I think Detroit got shafted with 24 seconds to go in the game

I think the NFL has some of the worst rules. They're ruining the game. How can that not be a touchdown? It's a joke.

I think that players should stop trying to get on sportscenter and start doing unselfish things for their teammates and that would be a great start.............but i digress to say that it should have been a td once his butt hit and he still has the ball........

I agree .. I can almost guarantee it that a NEW rule will be coming out after this. You see that type of move all the time in the 2 minute drill, hurry up offense. So what is the diff if it is in the middle of the field or in the end zone. You cross the goal-line with the ball it is touch no matter what happens after that

A lot like the tuck rule. By the letter of the law, not a td ............ but the law is stupid!

Dan patrick just had the old head of officiating on the radio and he said unless you make a 2nd move like reaching for a goal line and you go to the ground, you must get up with the ball in hand. He said it was a very tough rule too and he also said the same thing happened week 1 last year in the end zone with a raiders wr and the rule wasn't changed then.

Exactly. Stupid rule. They keep calling it the "process" of catching that pass. Well let me tell you, the "process" of catching that pass was over before he got knocked down by the defender.

Had the Refs 'fix' that one so I didn't lose my survivor pick on the Bears...

I agree the rule is stupid but if you follow the letter of the rule it wasn't a catch. I bet Calvin Johnson wasn't even aware of the rule because if he was he wouldn't have done it.

Do you think the refs make that call if the game is in Detroit?

I had Chicago in survivor so I am happy that it wasnt ruled a TD, but my freaking goodness, that was a TD.

im trying to figure out why in NFL you only have to "break the plain" of the goal line to score a TD on the ground, yet on a pass you need to catch the ball maintain possession with 2 feet in and have a "second act"? He clearly catches the ball and holds it in his one hand before hitting the ground all while in bounds. He had the ball his feet here on the ground in the endzone there is ZERO discussion or argument here. It was a TD period.
