I've been thinking about what my draft strat should be in a couple of weeks. A few topics should get us started. First, the NFL has changed so much over the past 5-7 years, it seems that in the past there was 10-14 Rbs that were the main men, and got all the touches for their respective teams. Today I can only think of a handfull of guys that don't split carries and they are the following: Chris Johnson, A Peterson, MJD, S Jackson, Gore, M Turner, Benson, Ryan Grant. Ray Rice splits carries, but he gets a ton of catches out of the backfield, so he can be in the category above. Also, it looks like Ryan Matthews, Shone Green and Leshon Mccoy will get the majority of the carries this year, and I assume Matt Forte will aswell, but I think Chester Taylor will steal a few from him, especially around the goal line. Rashard Mendenhall also looks as if he'll be the main man, and now that big ben is gonna be out at least 4 games I wouldn't be surprised if he's a top 5 back before the season ends.
Now, there are a ton of great backs left, but most of the following teams split carries: Dallas, Carolina, Indy, Miami, Giants, KC, Pats, Saints, and Zona. Then god knows what's gonna go on in places like Seattle, Cleveland, Houston, Tampa, Buffalo, and Detroit. I am high on a few rookies like Matthews, and Best, and I'm wondering if Macfadden will finally bust out now that Fargus is gone, but he has to stay healthy. On another note, it seems that in the past there was only 4-5 Qbs that were really bad ass, but now there are a lot more. Now, we all know that Bress, P. Manning, and Rodgers are on another level. However, one really can't complain if they're stuck with: Romo, Rivers, Brady,or Schaub. IMO, that's 7 really good Qbs that over half of a 12 team league will be stuck with, and will prob be gone by the end of the 4th round. But, if one goes: RB, RB,WR,WR; they can still grab QBs like: Eli, Cutler, Palmer, McNAbb, Kolb, Garrard, or Ryan. I think QB is one of the strongest position in FF, and RBs that don't split carries and #1 WR are the thinnest. To me there's only 5-6 bonafide #1 WR in fantasy: Fitz, Moss, A Johsnon, Miles, B Marshll, and Wayne. And a few guys that are on the cusp: R Whie, Calvin Johnson, D Jackson, and Sidney Rice (he would be a #1 if Favre was coming back. Anyways, I've been rambling enough, so I just wanted to know who's your top players at each postion, sleepers, top 25 overall, or whatever else you want to post. I'd also like to know what players are in contract years because guys always seem to play better when they're playing for a new contract. I can't wait!!!!!
