In the sucker punch heard around the world, Paul Daley's biggest night, in MMA's largest promotion, was his last. And all of us that were watching live knew it right then. Dana White really had no choice, given the recent bad PR run the sport has been on.
“That’s it. All over. I got my walking papers this morning and I am glad that things are now official. It’s a shame things went the way they did, but on the brighter side of things it opens up a lot more doors for me,” Daley said.
I wanted to see him end up with Strikeforce so I would have the chance of seeing him fight possibly for free. Plus, it would have been kind of ironic to see him sign with White's arch nemesis, Scott Coker. Daley already knows when he is fighting next stating:
“I am fighting on a pay-per-view show in Australia on July 3 with a lot of other big names, and I have other offers in the pipeline.”
There are rumors of him talking to Dream, but there has also been talk of Dream's management team wanting to shift their focus to the local talent in Japan more. If they were able to work a deal out though, you know they love to have him.
