Baffert was on the Jim Rome show today and he was DEVASTATED by the rail (1) draw. He kept saying he needed to shake it off and deal with it because it is what it is. He sounded very down and out on Lucky's chances because of the draw though. He said for a horse named lucky, he certainly hasn't had any so far. After listening to that interview, i just can't take Lucky to win now. He said it was the worst draw possible for that horse. GL though!

hmmmm, that guy probably wouldn't mind seeing the odds be about 5 or 6-1 instead of 3-1 too..... Who knows if he meant that?

He seems to be good friends with Rome, another horse owner and he certainly didn't seem to be trying to fool anyone. Go listen to the interview on Rome's site. Baffert will tell you if he thinks he is gonna win or has a great shot. He always has on that show but today was filled with a lot of deep disappointment.

Hey, by all means unload on him. I liked him too but that interview today REALLY soured me on that horse now. Baffert tells it like it is and always has. I've never heard him so down before. He said if he gets squeezed and out back, he is down, and if he charges out front, he may be done from burning too much energy to sustain it too.

No that was good info, thx for sharing... I feel like I'll just be pissing money away now on any other I pick, pretty crap field for a derby IMO

I liked when Big Brown was 3-1 in the Derby and it was easy money, that isn't happening here.

I love the 12. Heard he was GREAT in crappy conditions and rain/mud is expected according to Baffert.

WAYNE,"looking at lucky" has 6 wins out of 8 races,in 4 of those 6 wins,he started in the #1 or #2 post,i think baffert is trying to get the public off his horse !!
