The Rocket was no Cy Young Award winner in the bedroom, and certainly had nothing on Superman, according to comments made by country singer Mindy McCready in a salacious sex tape that reportedly will be released next month.
According to a Fox News report, the tape features McCready in a compromising position with a former boyfriend named "Peter," but the singer is also interviewed on the tape dishing about her long-term romance with Roger Clemens, a relationship first reported by the Daily News two years ago and which McCready confirmed.
McCready, who was in New York on March 16-17 for an appearance on "The View," met Clemens in 1991 when she was a 15-year-old singing karoke in a Ft. Myers, Fla,. bar. At the time, Clemens was already a bonafide Red Sox ace and a married father of two boys. The two spent the night together after that first meeting, but McCready has said she and Clemens did not have sex until years later, when she was older. The Rocket is currently under investigation for perjury after he testified before Congress in 2008 that he never used performance-enhancing drugs.
In the tape, McCready reportedly claims that Clemens was "good in bed," but also experienced "a lot of problems" due to erectile dysfunction. But McCready saves some high heat for Clemens, comparing his bedroom skills with that of ex-fiancé Dean Cain - who starred as Superman on the hit TV show "Lois & Clark." According to the Fox News report, McCready says on the tape that Cain was the superior lover.
McCready also reveals details on one of her steamy encounters with Clemens in Palm Springs, Calif. The News has reported that McCready had numerous rendezvous with Clemens in Las Vegas, New York City, Toronto and in her hometown of Ft. Myers. McCready has said in the past that she never wanted to marry Clemens, and felt that the way he treated her was abusive.
"I never wanted to marry Roger Clemens," McCready told The News in 2008. "I wanted him to do right by his family."
During her New York City visit, she was accompanied by former child TV star Mackenzie Phillips, who was McCready's roommate on the reality show "Celebrity Rehab." Both women appeared on "The View," but McCready was not asked about her relationship with Clemens.
