Silver is like Gold to us in Hockey. Hell, it's like our 15th most popular sport and we took a country who lives and dies by the sport to sudden death O.T. before losing on their home ice!

exactly what I was thinking...
Hockey in the US goes back on the backburner now that the Olympics are over...
Win or lose, that goal with 20 seconds left in regulation had to be the most clutch shot I've seen in a long time. I leaped off my chair and told my buddies that's one I'll remember for a long time. Too bad we couldn't finish them off. No reason to hang their heads.
4 on 4 in OT is rather ridiculous. That set up well for the Canadians.
Yes it was an exciting hockey game ... But now I know why I do not watch Olympic Hockey anymore ... nothing like years ago ...
This was like watching the All Star game ... I am totally against pro's playing in the Olympics .. I know why we do it but it does not mean I go along with it ...
So now all these winners and losers meet up tonight and play for the same team ...Just makes no sense to me
Just not the same ... that was the only game I watched this year ... and the reason why I did that was because I like the sport of hockey ... but to say I was watching the olympics?? No way ... bring back the rookies for this competition

Even back in the day, all the other Countries were the same way and we were lagging way behind. USSR and all those Countries were sending supposed Rookies but they were all playing for League's in Russia, Sweden and Finland. They used to go home and do the same thing playing for and with each other in various Euro League's. We were the guys getting pummeled with College kids.
I got really frustrated watching us get our asses kicked time and time again by Euro professionals and i guess i'm on the other side of you. Same thing in Basketball. We started sucking real bad vs these other countries because all their players were from the Italian Leagues and league's in other countries and they were killing our college kids. I hated watching it. The Miracle on Ice was GREAT but i don't enjoy waiting once every 50 years for that to happen while other countries abuse us with their "Best".
Some people hated or got bored watching the original Dream Team but i LOVED it. I loved watching them beat the shit out of all those other Countries and letting them know who the boss of hoops was.
The Olympics IMO is about sending the BEST Athletes from each Country for each sport. It is about seeing who the best is IMO. Why not send the best?
I realize many of these guys play together after the Olympics but that is with EVERY Olympic sport and it ALWAYS has been. It seems most athletes or quite a few, live in the States to train or go to College here. It was amazing watching the Olympics and hearing how many foreign athletes train or go to school here. Even back in the day, many Track athletes would go against each other in the Olympics and after it was over, they would go back to the University of Texas or somewhere else and be teammates or opponents again from another College. That has never changed and never will so i really don't see a problem with it. It isn't just Hockey, it is every sport that they do that in. I just think every Country should send their Best and let the chips fall where they may!
