Was at a local restaurant in Bham last night and ran into Sir Charles at the bar while my lady friend and myself were waiting to be sat. Anyway, we've ran into one another a few times and we started shooting the breeze. To make a long story short, when his table was ready he asked me and my lady if we would like to join them; of course I jumped on it. He is the coolest dude in the world. I don't know another celeb that would ask a regular dude if he would like to join him for dinner. Throughout the evening I tried to convince him to run for governor. At one point during dinner he asked me what my new year's resolution was. I told him I'm going to try to stop gambling as much. He said quote: " So your a degenerate like me?" I said: yes! He said, " I quit gambling for a year not to long ago; it was the worst year of my life." I fell out of my chair. He said that I shouldn't stop, but just gamble in moderation. In the end, he picked up the tab, and I asked him if there's anything I can do to repay him? We exchanged phone numbers and he said that I could repay him by picking up the tab on a round of golf the next time he's in town to see his grandma. anyway, thought I would share this story with some people that would enjoy it. I'm off to Calif for the BCS game on Wed. If anyone wants to meet up and hit Santa Anita on Saturday, let me know. Hope everyone has a great new year!

Pretty cool G'ma....I met Barkley once after the Kings game during post game interviews, along with Malone and Dr. J. He was a young dude at the time. I had Malone and Dr. J sign my jacket. Barkley seemed short but a cool guy. I'm 6'3" and he was just a bit taller than me.
Sounds like you had a great time!

I had a floor pass to that game at Arco against the Kings and shot photos and it got me locker room access, post game. It was cool. Got the same when Larry Bird and the Celtics came to Arco as well. Although Bird slipped out the backdoor and avoided all the fans waiting for him.
