I think it is too bad he is leaving but he has to do it for his health. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds. Not sure how old his kids are but he will probably watch them grow up for a few years get his health straight and I think he would come back and coach Florida.

I know Gruden's name comes up for every high-profile opening, but I have to think that if he wants to coach in college, this is the perfect spot for him....the Gators can pay him a big chunk, he'll get the best athletes and he will score points to keep the Gator faithful happy - now, does he want to recruit? Hoping to at least hear him comment about this...

I dont post much, but read the threads alot. Im a lifelong gator fan. Foley's list of replacement candidates will be:
Will Muschamp
Dan Mullen
Jon Gruden (for some reason)
Bob Stoops (though I think he will be an unlikely hire, because he spurned UF a few years ago when offered the job)

If odds came out id bet Muschamp or Mullen

Muschamp would obviously be a good hire for Florida. He is, however, the head coach designate at UT. I guess it would depend on if he wants to wait on Mack Brown to retire.

I think you're right about Stoops...but even if they offer it to him I don't think he'll go. I think he's gonna stay put until his kids get out of school.

Mike Stoops would be a possibility.

TOTALLY AGREE. I was listening to Tony Barnhardt (? sp) this morning, and he said there was a lot of fallout on Saturday with recruiting.

If he does in fact return, I've lost a lot of respect for him. Father, Family, Football.....in that order he says. I need to step down for my health and my family, football has taken too big of a toll. 24 hours later, nevermind, everything is better???????? Say what???
