And old wise bettor once told me to never take an over in a primetime game because you are having to cover extra points that are tacked onto the total. Due to the public loving to bet overs in primetime games oddsmakers are forced to add additional points to the total to even out action. Therefore even if it does end up going over you are still getting screwed in terms of value regardless. If the game was not being played in a primetime slot (which majority of games arent) then you would have that much less points required to put it over. Under or pass is what I was told and it makes total sense...

Perfect example last night. If that game is played at 1PM on a Sunday its goes over the posted total...

So the kicker missed a 20 yard FG because it was not at 1 pm Chado,that wise man sould have been wrong last night.That game should have went over.Guy makes that kick 95% of the time

Seems to me Monday night football goes over more than under.I could be wrong but it just seems that way.I would be intrested in seeing what the totals O/U have been the last few years

Its in reference to "in the long run" for primetime games. Also that is not just for NFL its any primetime sports slot for all leagues...

Just for my knowledge,what is a primetime game for Hockey?Seems all the games are at 7-9 M-F and day and night on sat and Sun.What games would be in the primetime under category?

only if you read and comprehended what he posted...

what he's saying is that the total would have been a few points lower had the game not been in primetime. therefore making or missing that last fg was inconsequential to what would be a lower total.
