Question for Mark30 or Mr. Pain

I can't remember who it was that posted they were training with ATT. I was at a show recently and saw a kid named Jonatas Gurgel. It sounded like he had an impressive BJJ resume. Do you know much about him?

Now get ready for the best one...... 3rd he is one of my instructors ! I am NOT on the PRO team, Right now i believe he is even the head of BJJ instruction at the main academy. He is 155 lbs, i'm about 200, when he gets me on the mat i stay there, i ain't going nowhere.

he is also very talkative, likes to run the mouth a lot, that's probably why his nickname is Tagarela in brazilian, basically means mouthy. You are also correct, he has a very impressive BJJ background.

This kid got his Black Belt at age 19 from Team Nova Uniao in brazil.....(look up my WEC 44 thread i have a nice little article on team Nova Uniao and how they are actually responsible for the art and growth of brazilian jiu jitsu, not the gracie's like everyone is told)

3X Brazil Cup champion.....................and he is only 23 years old man !


I am guessing you are from the Maryland area, and you went to the ballroom show ? man that kinda sucks that every fight was finished in the 1st round, but at least you saw some good finishes, the guy he fought, Pole i think is like 0-4, so i don't know why they matched him up with TAGA, TAGA is now 4-0 with that win over Pole.

Yes, that was the show. It was horrible. 6 fights totalling about 10 minutes. The promoter was advised to have at least 12 fights scheduled but didn't listen. I think a good amount of people were turned off.
