  • Hedge question

Got the last leg of a three game par going off tonight. I had Indy+135, under 49.5, and Carolina +10.5 (-150). I'm thinking of buying the boys down to 6.5(-150)so I can have 4 points to middle with. Is that a smart move, or should I just take the -8.5 and not have to lay all the extra juice?

Your parlay pays about 5-1. Assuming you risked $100 it pays $507.

The Boys on ML are -380.

I would seriously consider risking the the -380 to win covering my parlay bet. I would definitely risk at least -190 ML to win $50.

If Boys lose you win a few bucks. If Boys win by 11 or more you break even. If Boys win by 10 or less you caught a good middle.

I definitely wouldn't pay the extra juice if you are going to hedge i might even try to lay 9- and get + 110 and give you 10 as a middle

Damn it pays better than my calculation. I'd probably take Boys ML -380 to win $100. Covering my original bet. If Boys win by 11 or more you break even. The two other possibilities puts money in your pocket.

i think its a good idea to puy 200 on the boys at 6.5 tou could hit both or make 175 on the boys or make 400 on the original bet but i think you already new that

YES HEDGE IT...take it from me I had a 4 team parlay this week...

                  South Carolina WIN
                  Oregon WIN
                  UH WIN
                  TB Bucs BIG DAMN LOSER

100 to win 1000 and my dumbass did not hedge the bet, got greedy and wanted the whole $1000, well I got nothing losing my $100 in the process...I really felt the Bucs had a chance, hoping Giants would have a letdown game...but Leftwich is pathetic, they made the right move by benching that guy...he moves around like his feet are in concrete and whats with the offense, either a run for no gain or a pass to the back for minimal yardage...wow was it hard to watch that game...so learn from my lesson HEDGE IT, I know I will if Im in that spot again

Yea I definitely learned my lesson, I was down quite a bit and really needed the 1000 bucks, winning 400-450 would have helped, but I wanted it all, never again believe me
