This makes no sense. Every great diving catch is voluntarily. Players don't dive by accident. Also not sure how a shortstop only takes 3 steps before diving into the stands.

The catch was made well in the field of play. My point was, the dive was voluntary. IMO, and a lot of other people's the catch could have been made without the dive afterwards.

The main point of the post was, that it's Jeter's flare for the dramatic that leads people to believe he is a great defensive player, when in reality and statistically, he isn't.
