Announcers are saying only time for onwe play with 5 sec left. Two downs of either fade passes or quick slants could be done within the 5 sec left imo.

Yes, but a lot of people forget that the clock stops when a ref blows a whistle, not when the ball hits the ground...

It changes the whole spectrum of thinking when the ball has to: be thrown, be dropped or tipped, hit the floor, have it seen as clearly on the floor, have a whistle blow, and have the timekeeper stop the clock.

However, I thought, since they were in Tallahassee, they might stop the clock "early."

that was horrible coaching on part of FSU. they were inside the 5 yard line with 40+ seconds and didn't call a timeout. miami called timeout with like 18 seconds left. stupid coaching IMO.
