Who thinks Blount got what he deserved by being suspended the remainder of the year. I don't. I think Oregon completely over-reacted and did the politically correct thing after ESPN showed the replay 105 times since Thursday. Was he wrong yea. Should he have been suspended yea, maybe for 3/4 games but not the rest of the season. While I am not condoning what he did the jerk from Boise who went up and taunted him and slapped him on the shoulder pads as he was walking around after a tough loss was also to blame and should have received a 1 game suspension himself. I think Oregon caved into the pressure from the public and the ESPN commentators when they suspended him the rest of the year. What they did may have been in the best interest of the University but it wasn't in the best interest of Blount.

I think the guy that got hit deserved to get hit for taunting. With that said, the kid needed a stiff penalty, althgouh I'd probably have suspended him for half the season. I'd rather this kid get a second chance and play ball with the hopes of making it a career. I've heard the kid talk and seen the decisions he makes. Unfortunately if he doesn't make it in football, he is probably on the streets. I'd hate for one emotional moment take him from a contributing member of our economy than spending our tax dollars to house him in jail.
