  • Mets Reject Halladay

Or at least not that badly.

Niese, Parnell, R. Tejada, and Parnell for Halladay

    Apparently rejected.

This Mets team never stops amazing me. But this shows that the Jays are serious about dealing Doc.

Should read Parnell, Niese, MARTINEZ, and Tejada for Halladay....

I said Parnell twice..... Martinez is the big turnoff there.

That's what Toronto offered apparently. And the Mets rejected it. The Jays would accept that in a heartbeat, they're not gonna' get a better package than that for Halladay.

Maybe not but there are better packages that could be offered. I thought Toronto wanted some ML Talent? Are any of those guys on the team except Nieve ... who was picked up off the scrap heap? I don't like it at all for Toronto. I think there is better out there!

Except for Tejada, the other three are top 5 prospects in the Mets orginization. I guess it was too much for them to give up, especially considering it's going to be very hard to make the p-s this year.

Parnell, Niese and Martinez are all ML type players, and all have them have been on the roster this season.

Martinez is the pride of Maniya's (sp.) system and he wouldn't trade him for anything. The Daily News is likely going to slam Maniya for not pulling the trigger on this.

They have way too many needs to trade all of their prospects for one player...how does this address the porous defense or the lack of hitting? Finally, a smart move IMO by Omar.

This is very true, but all the NY fans care about is right here and right now. A lot of people wanted Halladay very badly. But I agree too much when you look at how much those prospects mean.

I hate to say it but they are so bad and have so many needs that Omar should just sit tight and ride out this disgaceful season. IMO, all he can do is Church for Frenchie type deal and pray he catches lightning in a bottle.

Everything will change once the big boys get healthy and come back. But the thing is, who knows when that will be??? Maybe if they knew, they could deal for Halladay ride it out, and have back their good lineup with Halladay and Johan at the head of the rotation. But Beltran, Delgado and Reyes are too busy crying on the sidelines to ever come back. Reyes turned a routine injury into a two month long DL stint.

I read it this morning, Mets didn't wanna give up their whole farm system. Did you guys here about Adrian Gonzalez to the RedSox potentially?
