    Question about basebal

    Im not from the us but i sure love the game , and i was wondering, why there are starting pithcers in baseball? why the sp wont be a part of the bulpen and pitch a couple of inings a game , our rest , our even managers use the team ace when they are in a jam to solve it?

    It has to do with stress on the arm. Throwing overhand is not the arms natural motion. This is why when you invest millions on an ace or even a number 2,3,or 4 guy, you want to take care of the arm that you invested in. This is also the reason there is a pitch limit on most guys.

    Occassionally you find guys with rubber arms or guys who are developed to be relievers. They have proven that over time they can pitch back to back days and then take a day off and be somewhat effective. Some guys after pitching two days in a row need two off. Others wont pitch back to back days no matter what. It all depends on the player, their age, how many innings they have thrown during the year, etc.

    Also some guys can not handle being relievers and vice versa. They have to start or they have to come out of the pen to be effective. Its just how some guys function best.

    Week 3 3-3 -0.3 Units
    Week 4 3-2 +0.8 Units
    Week 5 2-3 -1.3 Units

      where r u from and how old is this ace that the manager keeps making pitch.

      If he is a young guy tell him to be careful unless he does not want to be able to use his arm later in life.
