    You are absolutely correct.
However, we are talking about NOW and who Sox can get for Penny, who in my opinion(and I hope I am wrong) is living on borrowed time re: his pitching.
With Smoltz about ready to pitch, Bucholtz doing well and Ortiz struggling, I would glady take my chances of unloading Penny for someone decent in return who can hit.

If the Braves give up Hanson for anybody, I mean anybody.

I'll quit rooting for them. I don't care if they get offered Johan Santana or Evan Longoria for him, I don't want Hanson pitching ANYWHERE but Atlanta. I love that kid. I would be willing to deal Medlen for someone of Holliday's caliber however.

Hey Braves fans, From everything i hear, Smoltz has a fastball up around 96-97 MPH and his stuff looks NASTY!!!!

I really can't wait to see him pitch up here. I've heard him in many interviews and he sounds like a GREAT guy. He is also VERY Bitter with how the Braves GM treated him on the way out.

Thing is, I'm not kidding. The kid is legit. You'll see what I'm talking about on Saturday, or Sunday.

Greatest Brave of this generation, and the fact that he may not retire in one of their uniforms is sad. 96-97 mph though?? That seems a bit nuts, but I guess we'll see. That would be real impressive if he can throw that hard.

Doctors have said his arm/shoulder looks stronger than it has in years. He has his power back and he can't wait to pitch. He is like a pitbull begging to get out there. It is pretty funny!

You know what I mean wayne. I'm sure there's a prospect or two in the Sox orginization that you don't want to see go. Ever.

The guy is great, and I love 'em. His attitude is one of the best in the game.

Saw him pitch a gem against the Mets in Shea a couple years ago. Sat 3rd base side a couple rows up, and watched him jog in after every inning. It was great. And if it's true what they say, that's great for your Sox.

Even if he doesn't have the stamina and he ends up in the bullpen. I'd love to see him pitch coming out of the pen again. Strikes fear into the other team when he comes jogging out.

I would trade the BEST 2 we have for Santana or Longoria .. in a heart beat!!!!!!!!!!

We traded away the BEST SS in years, Hanley Ramirez, to try and get a title. Hanley is awesome ... like we all knew he would be ....... and we got a title and a stud starter. Hanson has proven ZERO at this level. The other 2 ... well, you already know what they are.

All right, call it an exaggeration . The kid is great, I just want him to pitch, and want to watch him grow up in a Braves uniform. The comparisons of him and Medlen are to Maddux and Glavine, needless to say, that's a pretty good comparison.
