This wouldn't seem to jive w/ NE's philosophy though.

I agree and that is a position they are set pretty well at already. I'm still curious about the Cassel for Cutler rumor. Would Denver really do that?

LOL. I think the same about you my friend.
Look at it from my POV.
"Brett Favre did it with no WRs."

        "Screw Brett Favre"

        "Why screw Brett Favre?"

"We're talking about the Patriots in this thread"

I'm not taking any of this personally, I responded to the thread and you shit on everything I say. IMO, i think you take the Patriots and all their glory a little too seriously, that or you have something against Brett Favre. Whatever.

Yes, you are not taking anything personally. lmao ... c'mon now, seriously.

I'm talking football and as most guys do, they "Get into it" when it comes to their teams. I won't apologize for that. Certainly nothing to take personally as in i "Shit" on everything you say but you certainly have ... even if you won't admit it.

Am I taking anything personally? No, its a forum on the internet, I don't know you, you don't know me. But maybe I am taking this a little seriously, I think if you were me, you would be too. The only thing I'm saying is most guys don't like it and find it disrespectful when they try to contribute to a conversation, and you say "Screw that guy", or "we're not talking about them, we're talking about this team right now." That's it, that's all.

NE got ripped IMO a stinken 2nd round pick for the backup of Brady who stepped up last year and did a damn good job. What happened to them trading for Gonzalez?

The way things are starting to look is if they are rebuilding.

My prediction: Cassel gets benched by the end of the season.

dude for all the brett favre blowing going on, he won one super bowl.

And he can thank the bust desmond howard for that one.

Not wanting to get off topic, but Favre is HOF lock!

I'm not blowing Brett Favre at all. I like 'em, and yeah he only won one super bowl, but his statistics are with the greatest of all time, and he did it with little to no help at the WR position, that's hard to do. But if you want to use SB's as the measuring stick, then yeah he's not that great, but by that logic Trent Dilfer is better than Dan Marino, because Dilfer has one more SB. Point being, Super Bowls are not the be all end all of great quarterbacks.

And like Monte said, he's a HOF lock. And that's not for nothing. You can't argue with the fact that he's one of the greatest of all time.

Broncos coach finds himself at odds with Cutler

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) - Trade talks involving Jay Cutler have strained the relationship between the Denver Broncos' franchise quarterback and new coach Josh McDaniels.

Before Matt Cassel was traded from New England to Kansas City on Saturday, Cutler's name came up in a proposed three-way deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that would have brought Cassel to Denver and landed Cutler in South Florida.

                            Cutler is a pussy.

Love the Boston media hammering the Pats all wekend saying they gave up Cassell and Vrabel for virtually nothing. They are getting killed in the press....

I agree on the surface that you would hope to get more than a 2nd round pick, however, the Pats didn't have great leverage in negotiations in my opinion. There was a 0% chance the Pats were going to go into the season with over $30 million dollars tied up at the QB position. This was no secret to the teams that were looking at Cassell. You also have to realize that while Cassell played pretty well last year, he is being paid as a top 5 QB, and many don't think he is near that type of player. There is certainly one school of thought that he is just a product of the Pats' system. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing w/ that, but that is what lots are saying. It isn't like teams were lining up to pay a somewhat unproven guy that type of money.

Again, to me the biggest aspect of the trade to me is that the Pats are dumping a huge ass contract, so in addition to getting a early 2nd round pick, they are able to sign a couple other players by freeing up that contract. Don't forget Cassell was what, a 6th rounder? From that perspective the Pats got pretty good use out of the kid.

After listening to alot of the reasoning since the trade went down, i'm fine with it.
