Steelers had the hardest schedule in NFL history and here they are in the Super Bowl. I am rooting for the Cards but just don't see the Steelers losing.

Being a Raven's fan i would love to see the Cardinals kick the Steelers ass.
But, i can't see it happening. Defense wins Championships. Steelers roll 34-13!

What do we know about nfc west teams??? Nfc west teams are known for having decent offense's top 15 in the league there also known for having weak defenses last 20-30 in the league. I believe that arizona has made the superbowl by just pure luck and the 2 gloves that kurt warner wears when hes throwing the ball!! Pitt plays some of the toughest teams in the nfl , they play balt/tenn/jax 3 of the leagues best defense's twice a year, they play indy, jets,sd,new eng, almost every year atleast once, arizona never faces defenses like this i mean philly ok but they only show up every other week. I expect pitt to win this game and put it away in a early fashion rip arizonas hearts out quick!!!!!!!!!!!

Cash money super bowl pick- pitt -6.5

        good luck and cash in!!!!!!!!

Those also qualify as three of the worst offensive teams in the league as well..........kinda cuts both ways.

When I posted, the majority was big on Arizona, now the majority is swinging over to Pittsburgh. People are starting to see the light.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that not too many people picked the poor old Giants last year against "one of the best teams in NFL history," and the only team in NFL history to go 16-0 in the regular season. 14 point doggie wins outright. I think the big favorites kind of get fat and full of themselves during the two weeks leading up to the Super Bowl. Meanwhile the disrespected team gets pissed off and works that much harder. Most people still aren't giving Zona a chance, and I think that works to their advantage.

Pulling for Zona to win, but don't care if they lose as long as they don't lose by 8 or more!

I saw this from another site. Thought it might make a few points in this thread.

              Interesting super bowl stats
i'm layed off this week & got bored today so i did some research & looked at the boxscore from every superbowl & looked at how teams did SU & ATS if they won certain statistical categories in the game. here's what i found. first number is SU & second is ATS. didn't bother looking up spread numbers with a few of the categories.

              team that scores 1st 27-15

team that leads at half 32-8 (2 ties at half)

              favs of 3 or less 5-4 / 5-4

              favs 3.5-7 pts 15-2/ 10-6-1

              favs 7.5-11 pts 5-1/ 5-1

              favs 11.5 or more 6-4/ 4-5-1

team most rush yds 35-7/ 31-9-2

team most pass yds 22-20/ 23-17-1

team most rush attempts 36-4/ 34-4-2

team that wins TO battle 30-3/ 26-6-1

              team more sacks 27-11/ 22-16

              team least penalties 17-22

teams with less than 20 rush attempts 1-16/ 2-13-2

teams with 25 or less rush attempts 3-26/ 3-24-2

teams with less than 30 rush attempts 3-30/ 3-28-2

              teams under 100 yards rushing 5-25/ 5-23-2

if team wins TO & sack battle 15-3 ATS

37 of 42 superbowls at least one team had 30+ rush attempts

teams that rush for 120 yds + are 23-3-1 ATS (6 times both teams met this threshold)

              11 dogs have won SU

11 of 11 had more rush attempts

10 of 11 had more rush yds

only exception was superbowl 3 when baltimore had 1 more yd than the jets

only superbowl where neither team had 100 + yds rushing was last years patriots/giants game
"The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice.

I will take the Defense in the title game everytime.

Warner is an amazing cat, and Fitz is incredible, but I dont think that is enough to beat argueably the best D ever.

                JMO

The Steelers schedule this year was sick
                Baltimore 3 times
                NE
                Philly
                SD twice
                Giants
                Indy
                Tenn
                Cowboys

They have faced some damn good teams and i dont think they will be too full of themselves, this is a grind it out smash mouth football team. They will bring their lunch boxes and be workmen like in their effort.

I agree but best Defense ever goes to the 2000 Baltimore Ravens with Ray Lewis in his prime.

                  2000 Baltimore Ravens

Ray Lewis' Ravens roughed up the Giants in Super Bowl XXXV.
In the past quarter-century, only one defense has held opponents to fewer than 11 points per game. That team? Ray Lewis' Ravens. In 2000, Baltimore set NFL records for fewest points allowed (165) and fewest yards rushing allowed (970) in a 16-game schedule. This stat is sick 60 YPG rushing allowed.

In addition to Lewis, who eventually was named Super Bowl MVP, Baltimore's defense boasted safety Rod Woodson, who was named to the NFL's 75th Anniversary All-Time Team.

During the regular season, the Ravens shut out four opponents, then got better in the playoffs, allowing a total of only 23 points in four games, including their 34-7 victory over the Giants in the Super Bowl. Even though they had a relatively easy regular-season schedule (opponents had only a .428 winning percentage), their playoff performance was outstanding.

As ESPN's John Clayton wrote last year, "The Ravens have that rare ability to reach into the chest of an opposing offense, remove its heart, squeeze it and return it to victims like a deflated football."

                  Also:
That 34-7 beat down of the Giants would have been a shutout if their special teams did not give up the kick return TD for the Giants.

No doubt a very great D, cant say who is better because we havent finished this year yet.

That Raven D could have been the best D ever, no doubt. We will leave it to others to decide who is the best.

All I know, is that there is some fucking D played in the AFC North Smash mouth motherfucker

I hope he catches herpes for playing for the Ravens

I've been pondering this game for a week and a half now...leaning towards pitt first and have decided to take the points and ride the cardinals. I think this will be an entertaining superbowl and will be a close game and won by a FG or less! Good Luck!!!!
Nothing is as far away as one minute ago.

The key will be the 2 week layoff ,and how Ari preformed in the 2nd half of the Philly game giving up a big lead...Pit -31 Ari -20
