However, after watching that clip, I honestly believe it WAS a forward pass. The clip is 4 minutes 25 sec long, go to the 3:47 mark which is where they just snap the ball for the play and watch it over and over. The ball leaves LT's hands at the 25 1/2 yd line, and is caught at the 26 1/2. Don't look at where LT is, watch the ball closely and you will see it too. The ball leaves his hand before the 26 and is caught a little past it, I am 100% positive of that after watching this a thousand times.Three Jack's Record http://www.bettorschat.com/forums/sh...10#post1323910

1. Any pass not forward is regarded as a backward pass. A pass parallel to the line is a backward pass. A runner may pass backward at any time.

3. A backward pass caught in the air can be advanced by either team.
4. A backward pass in flight may not be batted forward by an offensive player.
clear as day right here. after this there should be no argument.
cannot believe people on here can watch so much football, then not understand the rule. people pick up backward laterals (which is essentially a fumble) and advance them all the time.
you're talking about a backwards pass or lateral, what is the rule for picking up and advancing an "ILEGAL FORWARD LATERAL......after all this is what we're talking about....
I agree with your statement here...
cannot believe people on here can watch so much football, then not understand the rule.
PROBLEM is---we're talking about an ILEGAL FORWARD LATERAL and you're talking about a legal BACKWARD ONE....
I know the rules...the ref ruled it forward, thus the no advance rule applies....
The replay, depending on which angle you look at it, is awfully close to call....nort for me to call, but rather the man in the booth and he did call it...

my point is the only thing that mattered in this game was the SPREAD the game was over pitt wins either way 11-10 or 17-10 the spread was 4 thus the refs knew this and had to make a ruling. how can anyone think otherwise??2013 NCAA POD Record
8-3ATS +3.80 units

And I don't know how you can watch it and not see it. But I don't tink you are a FUCKING IDIOT. Blind, perhaps!!
We agree to disagree. And, as Dimer said, we could deabte it all night.
But I will say this again...by the letter of the rule book and if you believe it was a forward lateral, then they got it right. And the score or time on the clock should never play into a ref making or not making a call. If so, when does it end....Three Jack's Record http://www.bettorschat.com/forums/sh...10#post1323910

truth is the ruling on the field was TOUCHDOWN and the final score should have been 17-10
this outcome was fixed to make SD cover no doubt in my mind. the rest of you can make up rule or tie breaker or whatever excuses you want. I know what is fact and that is what happend at the end of this game was nothing short of a fix and a joke and the NFL knows it
Get real Dimer....these rules, as I stated earlier, are given to each Owner, Each Coach, and generally gone over with each player....
Refs have to attend schools, learn rules, take tests, and be aware of all new rule changes.....
PRE existing rule, tie breakers, all B4 the season started....
Got anything else....that one doesn't fly.....
Go ahead and believe that one play, yeh that one play, was premeditated by the FIX Doctors, on National TV, when in reality if it was fixed, they would have been making lil subtle damaging calls against one team or the other all day....
I'm sure the books paid em a ton of money to have SD cover that spread on the last play as planned...
Give me a break dimer
