Has everyone forgotten how old this dude is...albeit he had a good year last year but prior to that he SUCKED & showed his age more times than naught.
I heard GB paid thousands in a performance trainer last year in getting Favre ready for last season...hence his spectacular performance. Fast forward to this year & he hasn't had same regimen as last year to prepare, was retired for most & threw balls to high school kids just recently. If you think there is no difference in how he prepared last year vs this year you have no idea what the elite athletes do to be elite...Favre is no where near it from all reports.
GB getting anything for Favre is a win for them...he is closer to 40 than 30...how many old QB's have been good or great in the NFL...especially in today's game...RARE & Favre will not duplicate last years performance especially w/ the Jets offensive weapons.
Favre learning a completely new offense...he'll probably rely more on slinging it which will cost him & Jets.
Looking at Jets schedule, it's appears tougher in beginning, gets soft then harder again...most interesting games look like when Jets play Pats & when Favre faces Holmgren at Seattle...don't expect Jets to go 500.
I'll certainly eat my words if he can produce but I wouldn't put any money on Favre doing much for the Jets other than sell more tkts because of his past. Jets certainly need some kind of positive going into the season.
I think this blows up on Favre.
My prediction, between 1 week & 8 weeks, Favre RE-RETIRES & says goodbye for good. Wonder if any genius has clauses in contract to keep from guaranteeing him money if he does this?
It's been news for media that's for sure.

Favre unhappy with trade???
It never ends. With the report that the Packers and Jets have agreed on a trade sending Brett Favre to New York, Chris Mortensen is now reporting that many obstacles need to be cleared to turn this into a reality, the most daunting of which would be Brett Favre, as reported on ESPN.
Our View: Mort reports Favre is dying to get back in the league, but he had expressed strong concerns about going to New York. He wasn't excited about their team or their chances to compete, and he had pushed the Packers to trade him to Tampa Bay. Mort now believes the Packers simply ignored Favre and did what was best for them, and in fact may have intentionally designed this deal to influence Favre to once again consider retirement. He reports the Jets are likely to be on the phone right now, attempting to convince Favre to join the Jets, but in the end, the veteran passer still has the power in that he can still retire and walk away from it all. If his anger with the Packers is as strong as most reporters and friends believe it to be, that is not out of the realm of possibility. There will be more drama tomorrow, assuming this is not easily settled (and it sounds as if that is a long shot). We'll keep you posted along the way.

Man OH MAN if the Jets were playing anyone but the Dolphins week 1 I think I would UNLOAD against the Jets....Brett Fah-vrvrvre is in for a longish year imo...
Ya he was great last year (until the usual playoff screw up but that was only a matter of time) but 2005 and 2006 showed him winding down and if you think back to how many people said he should retire before he makes a mess of his legacy...then he has a decent year and suddenly he is back in his prime? Has he even been properly preparing in the offseason? Jets won't make the playoffs with Favre so I don't like this trade as it only delays the inevitable, they either have NO franchise qb at this point or Kellen Clemens needs more grooming not more 3rd stringing?
It is okay because I like the packers team but never like favre (used to respect him) but now I have the Jets AND Favre to dislike together so it is pretty optimal for me!
