born demond sanders pronounced "demon" yes bryce he is from erie pa. a full scholarship to Iowa. In his first game as a freshman he recorded 12 tackles and a forced fumble against wisconsin. He started 11 games that season leading the defense to give him the name "hitman"

In 2002 Bob helped lead Iowa to it's first undefeated conference season in 80 years, and was a big part of the 5th ranked rush defense that year. He single handedly won the game at purdue when he blocked a field goal attempt and returned it for a TD, his defense also helped iowa kill michigan 34-9 (how many times do you see iowa beating michigan these days....) Iowa went 11-2 and won the big ten title that year.

He was hurt most of senior season but as soon as he got back bam his second career touchdown came on a fumble return against Illinois, then in the last game of the season he recorded 16 tackles and forced 3 fumbles against Minnesota (when they had marion barber (cowboys), and lawrence moroney (patriots) on the same team.

that year he was named first team all big ten for the third consecutive year, and second team all american. He lead the nation in forced fumbles in 2003 and finished his career with 348 tackles.

fun fact- did you know "Bob" Demond sanders was given #33 at Iowa because his #20 was already being used. By the time #20 left the team they had sold so many replica #33 jerseys he was almost forced to keep the #

I happen to know a friend of the family, only met him once but coolest athlete I have ever met, Him and sean casey in baseball.....cool dudes.

Erie Pa is strong in football and wrestling--Erie Prep--Strong Vincent Erie Cathedral---did i get that right-- just to name a few and I am talking about back in the day...I wrestled in high school and college and ERIE was always a hot bed of football and wrestling--I think you are a little younger but I went to Clarion--which no one on this board probably knows---Edinboro and Lock Haven are up your way as well...I just didn't realize Bob was from there---Sean Casey is from Upper St. Clair which is down my way--actually like 20 minutes from where I grew up--always liked him!! Good to see ya!!
