We like the home team Blue Jays in this one.They return from a 6 game road trip where they went 2-4.I see them being very anxious to start this home stand on a winning note. They're just 2 1/2 games out of first place behind the Red Sox and the Yankees and they can ill afford to lose any ground playing a 5th place team in the Central Divison of the National League. They give the ball to Cory Lidle who is an impressive 8-4 with an era of 4.80.In 86 1/3 innings of work he has allowed 46 runs on 90 hits while walking just 18 ( in 13 starts) and fanning 51 batteres.Opposing teams are hitting 266 against him.I see his teammates giving him planty of run support tonight as opponents aaare hitting 288 against starter Kris Benson of the Pirates.In fact the Jays are batting 306 against right-handers in their last 10 and an impressive 307 at home. This year Benson is just 5-6 with an era of 4.23. In his 12 starts he has pitched 78 2/3 innings and surrendered 37 runs on 91 hits while walking 19.He has only won one of his last 4 starts and has seen his era climb as his era is 5.68 over the last 7 starts he has had!!!! Look for the Jays to bang out a number of hits and be patient at the plate.They are leading the league in runs scored this year and tonight you will see why!!!! .....TAKE THE TORONTO BLUE JAYS
