8:05 Toronto -110 (Halladay 1-2, 4.89) over Texas (Lewis 3-2, 6.30) Dime Play off the Pay Line!
If you are a consistent reader of TheBigPlay.com then you already know how we feel about playing against the Rangers in the month of May in the last few years. Texas is only 20-38 in the month of May over the last 3 seasons which includes a 1-3 start this year. The Blue Jays in a a nice money making run having won 4 games in a row and that run started with today's starter Roy Halladay who got then win against these very same Rangers back on 5/1/03. Texas will counter with Colby Lewis and Lewis is just 1-2 with a 7.07 ERA in his last 3 starts. Lewis also has an ERA of 31.50 lifetime against Toronto. We figure Toronto should supply enough run support for Halladay and we like our chances with the Red Hot Blue Jays in this spot.
7:05 Baltimore -170 (Hentegen 0-0, 0.00) over Detroit (Maroth 0-7, 5.57)
Right Hander Pat Hentegen will make his first appearance for the O's this season. The Tigers are just 2-18 versus right handed starters this season and are also just 2-13 on the road also this season. Baltimore is a profitable 10-6 when playing against a team with a losing record this season. The O's have gotten it together going 5-2 in their last 7 games overall and we like our chances of Baltimore getting the victory tonight.
8:05 Philadelphia +1 over Detroit
The 76ers get to start this Game 1 of the series on a Tuesday night. Philadelphia is a very profitable 5-2 ATS on Tuesday nights this season. The Pistons are coming off of an emotional series against the Magic in which Detroit trailed 3-1 in the series and came back to win in dramatic fashion in Game 7. Can anyone say Letdown Game? That exactly what we believe will happen tonight in Game 1 of this series. Philadelphia knows very well that the pistons may come out a bit flat and this is a great opportunity for the 76ers to sneak out a Game 1 victory.
7:05 Montreal -160 (Hernandez 2-1, 4.50) over San Diego (Peavy 4-2, 4.14)
The Expos are a profitable 13-6 when playing against a team with a losing record this season while the padres are only 6-9 when they face an opponent with a winning record so far this season. The padres are in the midst of a losing streak going 1-7 in their last 8 games overall coming into play tonight. Montreal had Monday as an off day and the Expos are 5-1 when playing with a days rest early in the season. The Expos have dominated play at home against the Padres in recent past going 16-8 in the last 24 meetings in Olympic Stadium. We like our chances with the well rested Expos and El Duque with the ball in this spot.
