Game: Washington vs. Ny Giants 1:00 p.m. ET
Sport: NFL - National Football League
Line: Washington + 2 -110
Prediction: Washington + 2 -110
Explanation: 2 Units
The Washington Redskins ironed out their offensive problems last week against the 49ers, giving them a serious confidence boost heading into their divisional showdown with the Giants. Santana Moss just might be the league’s MVP over the first half of the season, Washington’s top big play threat with a knack for making things happen at the most crucial times of the game. With David Patton providing another deep threat on the other side, look for Mark Brunell to have another big day passing the football against Will Allen, Curtis DeLoatch and the rest of the Giants suspect secondary.
The Redskins are clearly the better defensive football team in this matchup. Denver gained 191 rushing yards and 194 passing yards in their matchup with New York last week, moving the football at will for most of the ballgame. Against the Redskins defense two weeks earlier, the Broncos were stifled, gaining just over 250 total yards for the game. New York gave up 385 yards to Dallas while Washington shut the Cowboys down in the second half in their upset win at Dallas.
The Giants may be undefeated at the Meadowlands thusfar this season, but they are about to face their toughest foe yet. Don’t expect resilient and well prepared Washington to give this game away in the fourth quarter like the Broncos did last week.
