Complimentary Play: Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears September 18 01:00EST
The defensive minded Bears were up to old tricks in week one forcing four fumbles, recording three sacks, and generally causing mayhem as they held Redskins to just three field goals. On the offensive side it was same-old for the Lovie Smith squad 'NADDA' - Bears putrid offense with rookie QB Kyle Orton running the show amassed a grand total 166 yards in the 9-7 loss recording a fifth consecutive sub 15 point game and a 10th in fourteen trips onto the field (5-9 O/U). Detroit opened the season handing Bret Favre and the Packers a 17-3 loss marking Lions third 'W' in eleven games (5-7-1 ATS). Not overly impressive on the offense against a weak Packer 'D' Harrington went 15 of 28 for 167 yards and Kevin Jones ran for 87 yards helping the squad notch 102 yards on the ground. Lions defense however came up huge limiting Packers to just 46 yards rushing and 216 yards overall. Lions took both meetings last season, 19-13 and 20-16 sending 'Under' bettors to the cash window in each game marking the seventh 'Under' in last eight meetings. Expecting a solid defensive performance from both sides makes the 'Under' a promising proposition knowing Bears are 4-0 'Under' last four season with a total less than 34, 2-0 'Under' as home dogs with a total less than 34, 2-0 'Under' L6Y's home in week two and Lions are 5-1 'Under' last six in September. Don't fancy a total play, consider taking Bears at + 1 1/2. Bears offense won't light up the scoreboard but the defense gets the job done with a defensive major or at least provides great field position so the field goal unit can notch a few. Bears 7-3-1 ATS last eleven getting points on home turf, 2-0 ATS L6Y's home in week two, Lions 3-29 last thirty-two on the road (14-18 ATS), 0-3 ATS L4Y's in week two and a dreadful 0-5 ATS last seven years as road favorites sure helps the cause. As always best of luck - www.sportspic.com
