Bottom Line College Football Freebie for September 10th:
Take Iowa -9 @ Iowa State for 5 units
This Hawkeye team is going to show they are for real this season in the Big 10. This contest will be tougher than their one last week but make no mistake about it, they are far more talented and better coached than Iowa State. Iowa has struggled against the spread in the past against Iowa State (1-6 ATS last 7) but don't look for it to happen this time around. The Hawkeyes are an amazing 24-1-1 ATS on the road when they win straight up. I don't see any reason at all why they should lose this one outright as they have a far better defense and special teams than the Cyclones. So based on that trend it's a no-brainer but there's another trend to consider: Iowa is 9-2 ATS last 11 times they have gone into Ames. On the fundamental side, the Howkeyes' starters got plenty of rest last weekend as they were pulled after the 1st half for the most part. This will help them in this matchup as they face a tougher opponent than Ball State here. Let's go with the Hawkeyes as they steamroll the Cyclones by 20.
