TEXAS TECH RED RAIDERS @ OKLAHOMA SOONERS

    SATURDAY FEBRUARY 5TH @ 9:00 PM EST

This is one of those games that appears at first to be a very interesting match-up in the Big 12. Bobby Knight's boys always seem to be given the credit for being a contender in each and every game, when to be truthful they seem to struggle frequently on the road. This is indicative by their overall record of 12-5 but only 3-3 SU when playing away, and more importantly 1-2 ATS when not in the friendly confines of Lubbock. I guess The "GENERAL'S" stare doesn't carry the same effect on the road with the officials in the Big 12. Oklahoma on the other hand has been strong consistently all year and sports a record of 16-3 but only 6-8 ATS and even worse at 3-5 ATS when a favorite at home in Norman. Kelvin Sampson is emotionally involved with this team, even more so than usual, which was evident in his two technical afternoon against Okla State in their come from behind victory last week.

All our regulars know we at RED ZONE SPORTS look high and low for the underdogs, and have made our niche by finding for our clientele winners who are supposed to rollover and play dead. Well, gentleman while researching and looking for the big doggie we never pass up what we feel is a real STRONG favorite, and today that is the Sooners. Sampson played four freshman a great deal last season and made the BIG DANCE, and as they say the best thing about freshman is they become sophomores. Oklahoma has a solid blend of returning experience and mature incoming JUCO talent, and is obviously headed for NCAA once and again come March. More importantly they don't have a senior in their top four coupled with leadership from Kevin Bookout.

Lets be real, Tech is 12-5 presently because of the soft pre-season schedule and will have trouble making a run to the tourney unless things change. They are not big, not particularly athletic, and they don't have the go to guy they had in Andre Emmet last year. your experts from THE ZONE say lay the points, take the Sooners and win on Saturday
