    Arkansas St. –8.5 (3 Units)

This makeup from last Thursday has no implications on the upcoming Sun Belt Conference tournament but could give one of these two teams a momentum boost for Friday. Florida International comes into this game with a 1-12 conference record and a 2-9 record on the road. They are coming off a tough road loss at Arkansas-Little Rock on Saturday and we don’t see them performing nearly as well on Monday. They reached 60 points for only the 3rd time in their last 11 games and are averaging 55 ppg on the road for the season. They won their first 3 games that included wins over Princeton and Iona but have gone 3-19 since. The Indians on the other hand are scoring 76 ppg at home on 45% shooting and 38% from behind the arc. They also have a huge advantage at the free throw line 75%-61%. The Panthers are shooting just 54% from the stripe in their last 5 games. Arkansas St. fell to New Mexico St. in their last game on February 22nd and will be very fresh coming into this game while the Panthers played just 48 hours ago. The Indians loss to the Aggies puts them into solid 68% system as well. To make matters worse, Florida International may be without G Junior Matias, the team’s second leading scorer. Matias missed their last game as well due to a knee injury and it showed as they were without their leading backcourt go-to guy when they needed him. Look for the Indians to play a focused game heading into their game with Denver in the conference tournament, as a weak effort will certainly carry forward.
