BAYLOR BEARS @ OKLAHOMA STATE COWBOYS

    SAT 1/22/05

Here is a Baylor team scratching for respectability against an Ok St team that was either #2, #3, or #4 on most pre-season polls. It's true the Baylor Bears are 8-5, but the array of patsies they put on the schedule to get to eight wins this early could only be evaluated as embarrassing. Here are some of the powers to be they played. Savannah St, Prairie View, Chicago St, Maryland Eastern Shore, Southern Unit, Tex A & M Corpus Christi, Arkansas Pine Bluff, Louisiana Monroe and Hillsdale Oklahoma. Believe me, someone spent a great deal of time assembling this cannon fodder last year. This is a Baylor team that was 8-21 last year, and for the second year in a row only had "7" scholarship players. They lost "6" key players from last years 8-21 season. Thus the reason to get every win possible before the rugged Big 12 season began. Unfortunately for Baylor it is upon them.

Oklahoma State is coming off a very difficult loss to Texas on the road and will be wanting to put a big hurt on the Bears to regain their momentum in the Big 12 race. This is a team loaded with talent, a superior frontcourt, backcourt and lets not forget the old master Eddie Sutton with more wins than any other OSU coach EVER! Baylor has only three players over 6' 5", and may be scrappy, but lets face reality here. Scott Drew is on a Honey as the Bear's coach till the sanctions imposed by the NCAA are removed. Till then he will try to schedule as many early wins as possible to try to sport s respectable record. The Bears have played 13 games, of which only 4 were lined, and are 3-1 ATS in those games. Oklahoma St is 13-2 and 6-5 ATS, but when they pick you in the top five, the number is always large home or away. RED ZONE SPORTS normally seeks out and finds the sweet underdog. Today we love the Cowboys to put a huge hurting and cover any number that the sharps put on the board. Oklahoma State pummels a helpless Baylor squad Saturday.
