Preview courtesy of The Sports Network:

The Phoenix Suns try for their second nine-game winning streak of the season this evening when they head to the Rockies to battle the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.

Phoenix improved its NBA-best record to 21-3 on Saturday with a 110-96 victory over the Washington Wizards at America West Arena. Shawn Marion scored 36 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and recorded six steals to lead the Suns to the win.

Quentin Richardson added 19 points and Steve Nash finished with 13 points and 11 assists for the Suns, who have won 17 of their last 18, the most victories over an 18-game stretch in team history..

Steven Hunter matched a career-high with 17 points off the bench, but dislocated the middle finger on his right hand. He is questionable for tonight's affair.

Phoenix, which will return home for two games following tonight's tilt, is 10-1 away from home this season.

Denver, meanwhile, has dropped two in a row following a 117-95 setback at the hands of the Orlando Magic on Saturday at the TD Waterhouse Centre. DerMarr Johnson scored 18 points for the Nuggets, who concluded a season-high seven game road trip with a 3-4 mark.

Kenyon Martin had 16 points in the loss, while Andre Miller, Earl Boykins and Rodney White each registered 13 points in the loss.

To make matters worse, Carmelo Anthony missed the game with a sprained left ankle and will also miss tonight's game. The second-year pro is averaging 21.4 points and six rebounds so far this season for the 13-11 Nuggets.

Denver, which will head to Seattle to face the SuperSonics on Wednesday, is 9-4 at home this season.

Denver won all four meetings from the Suns last season and has won six of nine and eight of the last 12 meetings. Phoenix has also lost two straight and four of its last six in Denver.

    Good luck
