It was a nice day overall as I went 4-1 in my service plays. In the NFL I finished the exhibition season with a 1-1 mark, as I won with Chicago/ Cleveland UNDER 36, but lost with Washington/ Atlanta OVER 41. In CFB I hit my only play as Washington State covered the 3 vs New Mexico. On the baseball diamond I won both plays as Houston beat Pittsburgh and Oakland beat Toronto. Overall it was a good day and I'm looking for more today with the fisrt full slate of CFB. Baseball is now 21-7 the last 12 days... NFLX finished at 19-8...CFB 2-2.

Navy -6.5 over Duke: Both teams come into this game with high expectations for the season as Duke won 2 of their last 3 last year, while Navy comes off a 8-5 bowl season. The biggest question for Duke is can they stop the powerful Middies ground attack. The answer is a resounding no. Duke does return 8 starters on defense, but keep in mind that these are the same players that helped allow teams to run for 158 ypg and 4.4 ypc. They will get better as the season goes on, but facing this ground assault in the fisrt game can not be good. Last year Duke's offense put up just 17.6 ppg with 11 starters back, but this year they return just 5 so don't look for a big improvement from this group. Navy's defense will be tough with 8 starters back and that will keep the Blue Devil offense at bay and allow Navy to build a sizeable lead at the half. Navy also want revenge for the 43-17 loss to Duke in 2002 and they are 7-1 ATS when seeking revenge. Navy is also 26-1 ATS when they win the game outright, while Duke is 1-5 ATS in their first game of the season. Navy wins with ease.
