One aspect of handicapping is to investigate the technical circumstances of each team, searching for meaningful historical trends. How teams have performed under certain conditions in the past, such as when home/away, a favorite/underdog, in a divisional/non-divisional game, etc., can portend future outcomes. In addition to established, simple single-team and single-factor angles, PRO INFO SPORTS employs our own unique and complex league-wide systems in our NFL handicapping arsenal. The Dallas Cowboys had an interesting trend of losing their tenth game of the season for 10 years in a row, from 1987 through 1996. The pointspreads were adjusted and now there is little line value in blindly betting Monday Night Football home dogs. In 2003, for example, such teams suffered a nightmare 1-5 season against the spread.
