San Diego Padres @ Milwaukee Brewers

    Saturday May 29 @ 7:05 EST

We have two teams with very similar record, but the Padres are tied for
first at the time of this writing since the NL West Division is very
weak. Our analysts love this game because Milwaukee is sending out
inexperienced Matt Wise who has only pitched 7.2 innings this year and
posted a 5.87 ERA. In his only attempt as a starter Matt went four
innings, giving up seven hits, two runs and walking two. Let‚s face
it, in his whole career he has only pitched 102 innings total. Wise‚s
only previous start this year was May 20th against the lowly Montréal
Expos, and the relievers pitched the last five innings giving up only
one run and getting the victory. His mound opponent Jake Peavy for the
Padres is only 22 years old but is far beyond Wise even though this is
his third year in the majors. Jake can throw four pitches for strikes,
the best of which is his changeup. He adds a moving fastball clocked
at 95 miles per hour and a slider and curve. Peavy has sound pitching
mechanics, is an intense competitor and possesses tremendous poise on
the mound for a young pitcher. His only glaring weakness at this stage
is he can be too aggressive in the strike zone, and tends to give up
the long ball Still he is 4-2 with a 2.02 ERA and a WHIP of 1.36.

Padres are sixth in the majors in batting statistics with a .270
batting average, .342 slugging percentage and are ranked fifth in runs
scored. Brewers are ranked right behind in 7th spot with a .258 batting
average, .410 slugging percentage and have scored three less runs. The
difference here is readily apparent in the strength of Peavy as the
mound in comparison to Wise who has spent the bulk of his career in
short bullpen stints and only has the one start this season. Your boys
from RED ZONE SPORTS love the Padres in this one, and expect them knock
Matt Wise out early and get deep into the Brewer bullpen. Take San
    Diego to win Saturday evening!
