OAKLAND A’S +149 AT NEW YORK YANKEES -159:
MLB - 7:05PM (EST)
The Yankees bats finally have come alive against the some of the better starting pitching in the American League – the Oakland A’s. While Time Hudson and Mark Mulder had trouble shutting down New York’s lineup, the A’s will look to Barry Zito to get things done on Thursday.
Zito has been up and down this season having pitched against the Angles and Rangers twice. Unfortunately, he will not get any relief tonight as he faces what is arguably the best lineup in baseball (at least on paper). While Derek Jeter still remains in a 0 for 32 slump, the rest of the Yankees bats have picked up the slack. A-Rod, Posada and Giambi are all swinging the bat well, which will make tonight’s game a real test.
The Yankees will send Kevin Brown to the mound, who looks to remain perfect on the season. Brown hasn’t been great, but he has pitched well in pressure situations, having faced the Red Sox twice already this year, coming away with 2 no decisions.
When the dust settles, look for the Yankees’ hot bats to continue and Kevin Brown to have another strong outing at home tonight. The game’s line is high, but there is value, so don’t pass it up.
Best of luck,
-Drew
