Sacramento Kings at Houston Rockets 1:00 pm EST

    Sacramento +2.5 (2 Units)

Neither of these teams is playing well right now. Both teams have lost 4 of their last 5 games but it’s the Kings who stand to lose the most with a defeat here. They are currently sitting in 3rd place in the Western Conference, just ½ game out of first. They still have games against the Lakers and the Twolves, the two teams sitting in front of them so getting back into first place is a solid possibility. Sacramento has won the last 4 meetings including all 3 this season and unlike other season series, the Kings have the clear edge in talent. With the return of Chris Webber, Sacramento was supposed to distance themselves from the pack. Instead, they have moved back. Accumulating a 43-15 mark without Webber, then winning when he sat out March 7 for precautionary reasons, the Kings are 8-8 with him. He’s still isn’t 100% but the matchups are more favorable against the Rockets. One positive came out of their last game at Dallas. They considered that loss a moral victory because they cut into what had been a 27-point deficit. Kings coach Rick Adelman was upbeat after the contest because he saw a combination of two qualities - fight and attitude - that have been missing while the Kings have lost seven of their past 11 games. "We are still a team that has won 52 games and we have to find out how we did that. It hasn't gone away, but the last quarter and a half we got our attitude and that is what you have to have - an attitude." Overall, the Rockets have lost 7 of their last 10 games but they have a firm grasp on 7th place in the West with no chance of moving up or down.
