Sacramento Kings at Dallas Mavericks 8:00 pm EST

    Dallas –5.5 (2 Units)

It’s hard to believe the Mavs are sitting in 6th place in the Western Conference playoff race with just 8 games remaining. After Sacramento, they face only one team, Memphis, that is ahead of them in the standings so these games are huge to make up ground. They can still catch Memphis and San Antonio to try and get home court in the first round but they need to win and get some help from others. Dallas has been solid at home – it has been on the road that has been their problem this season. They are 11-1 their last 12 home games, winning those games by an average of 15.2 ppg. The Kings have had more road success than Dallas but not recently. They are just 1-5 their last 6 road games, losing only one of those by less than 6 points. The home team has dominated this series as the host has won and covered 6 of the last 7 meetings. The Kings are coming off a very physical matchup with San Antonio on Wednesday so a repeat effort isn’t likely. For Dallas, small ball worked in their first game against Cleveland and they are hoping that type of momentum carries them the rest of the season. Sacramento won’t have an advantage inside as Brad Miller is expected to miss this one because of an elbow injury. Miller was in street clothes last night as he and the team decided the bursitis in his right elbow needs to be rested. Miller, whose elbow has not swelled appreciably, has been unable to fully extend his shooting arm without pain and has been troubled by passing and shooting.
