There was not a lot early money line action in baseball, but there were several totals that really jumped around including this one. This total flew from 9 to 10 as James Shields (5-15, 4.59 ERA) and Lance Lynn (8-9, 4.89) are expected to pitch to the form they have shown most of the season. Another factor is the offenses, with Chicago averaging nearly a run more per game in their last seven outings at 5.1 RPG (vs. 4.2) and New York averaging 5.6 RPG at Yankee Stadium. At 9, the OVER was the play, at 10, just a lean.

With as well as Oakland has been playing and being within three games in the loss column of front-running Houston, it was a large surprise to see the Astros jump from -175 to -210 tonight. Part of is Houston is getting healthy and having Jose Altuve back in the lineup has made a major difference, as they are 6-0 in his return. Though Edwin Jackson (4-3, 2.97) has pitched exceptionally for the A's, there is nothing in past that suggests he will continue on this path. The 'Stros Charlie Morton (13-3, 3.05) has found a home in H-Town. Though Oakland might be worth a look, they are 3-15 off a loss by six runs or more to a division rival.
