Iowa St. Cyclones at Oklahoma Sooners 8:00 pm EST

    Iowa St. +6.5 (2 Units)

The Cyclones have had their troubles on the road, losing their last 4 away from home including a defeat at lowly Baylor. They could end the skid here as they match up very well with the Sooners who have gone 3-4 their last 7 games after starting the season 10-0. Iowa St. has better numbers on offense shooting, defense shooting, rebounding margins, free throws and assist/turnover ratio. Playing arguably its best half of the season, the Cyclones outscored Kansas 47-32 in the second half behind 60.6% shooting from the floor (20-33) to rally from an eight-point halftime deficit to defeat Kansas Saturday. Iowa St. outrebounded the Jayhawks 45-39, outrebounding its first Big 12 opponent in four games. Iowa St has four players averaging between 14.9-12.6 ppg and three times this season, five players have scored in double figures in a single game. The Cyclones are shooting 47.0% from the field, third-best in the Big 12 and they have scored 70 points or more in all but three games. They have also had more assists than turnovers in six of its last eight games. Not having to rely on the scoring of Jake Sullivan has been a major reason for Iowa St.’s success. Sullivan, who led the Cyclones in scoring last season, led the team in scoring in 16-of-31 games last year. He has led Iowa St. in scoring just twice in 16 games this season, showing the balance they have on the offensive end. Iowa State is currently ranked 21st in the nation in personal fouls per game, averaging just 16.1 per game. It’s important because the Cyclones are is 12-0 when making more free throws than its opponent.
