Fairfield Stags at Marist Red Foxes 7:30 pm EST

    Fairfield –4 (2 Units)

The Stags are coming off a very disappointing loss at St. Peter’s on Sunday and they should bounce back against Marist, who has lost 5 of their last 8 games. Their 3 wins came against teams ranked no higher than 143rd in our rankings and bottomed out with their most recent win against 324th ranked Loyola Maryland. The Stags have actually fared better away from home as they are 6-3 on the road or in a neutral environment. The 3 setbacks included a loss at Duke and a one-point loss to Hawaii in the finals of the Rainbow Classic, which makes the St. Peter’s loss than much more surprising even though it did come in overtime. The Stags held an eight-point lead with 81 seconds remaining in regulation, but did not score the rest of the way. Marist's biggest problem this season has been consistency. The Red Foxes haven't had anyone constantly play up to their capabilities night-in and night-out, especially the upperclassmen. Only Brandon Ellerbee and McClurkin are averaging more than 10 points per game for the Red Foxes, who are shooting less than 40% from the field as a team. They are last in the MAAC in shooting from behind the arc at 29.9% and with a 63.9% clip at the free throw line, they are 8th in the conference. Fairfield is hitting 73.7% of their foul shots, good for 2nd. Fairfield has won the last 3 meetings by an average of 11.3 ppg. The Stags are 2-0 ATS as favorites and they are a perfect 5-0 ATS against teams with losing records.
