New York Knicks at Toronto Raptors 7:05 pm EST

    Toronto –6 (2 units)

Following their loss at San Antonio, the Raptors return home 0-2 from Texas and losers of four in a row after winning five in succession following their blockbuster with the Chicago Bulls. But it was their grit and ability to defend in the second half against the Spurs that should provide some comfort for the Raptors. "I thought we did a heck of a job but it's unfortunate we couldn't get those three long rebounds in the end,'' Raptors coach Kevin O'Neill said. "We had a tough trip but we played well (last night) over long stretches and it's my hope that we start to find our identity again. We're starting to dig in and doing good things as a team again." They had averaged 99.3 points in their last eight games, but struggled to only 28 field goals in 70 attempts against the best defense in the league. New York is a team in turmoil right now. Don Chaney and his players had a team meeting before practice that was part damage control and part self-help. "I don't feel that cohesive unit yet," Keith Van Horn said. "At the same time, we're an experienced team and we should be doing better than we are." The McDyess promotion has been anything but smooth. Kurt Thomas voiced his frustration before Sunday's game against Washington. And after Monday's loss, McDyess went on an uncharacteristic rant, calling the Knicks a "high school team." Coach Don Chaney is on the hot seat but there are too many internal problems going on right now for this team to turn things around after just one team meeting. New York is scoring an NBA 2nd worst 83.2 ppg on the road. The Knicks are just 3-11 on the road while the Raptors are 8-3 at home this season.
