Wright St. Raiders at Youngstown St. Penguins 7:00 pm EST

    Youngstown St. –3 (2 Units)

This year is starting out just like the last 2 years have been for the Penguins. They are a decent team at home but they can’t win on the road. They are now 1-35 on the road the last 2 + years but a respectable 15-12 at home and 25-14 at the Beeghly Center since the beginning of the 2000-01 season. Two of those home wins were against Wright St., by 6 and 7 points. The Raiders are coming off a home loss to Southern Illinois, a game in which they competed well throughout. Despite rallying from a 16-point deficit in the second half, they faded down the stretch and lost 79-73. "Inexperience has a lot to do with it, but it's only a factor," Wright State coach Paul Biancardi said. "(Southern Illinois) had three seniors and two juniors, so they know how to win when it comes down the stretch. Inexperience is a factor, but we're not making excuses." While Youngstown St. isn’t nearly the team the Salukis are, they are an experienced bunch that has improved each of the past 2 years. They return 4 starters from last season and 4 of their 5 leading scorers are juniors and seniors. Since joining the Horizon League, Youngstown St. has won six conference games at home while getting no wins on the road. Meanwhile, Wright St. has lost 15 consecutive road games.
