MONDAY NIGHT SELECTION: St. Louis Rams (-)

This is probably going to be a game where many handicappers will outsmart themselves. I hate to bet road favorites in the NFL. In fact, I despise it. They are simply not a winning proposition for the long term. Nonetheless, I just do not see the Browns sticking to within a touchdown of the Rams. The Rams are not as solid on the road. Nevertheless, they have won four straight, and the last win was a blowout. NFL teams off four or more consecutive SU wins with the last covering the spread by 21+ points are 9-1 ATS when installed as road favorites or 3 or more points since 1989. These teams have covered by an average of 9.7 points! Meanwhile, the Browns have only won one game in their last six. The only team they beat was the Cardinals at home, and everybody knows how good the Cardinals perform on the road. They have not stayed within five points of anyone except the Cardinals since they beat the lowly Raiders on October 12. The game is on grass, which might slow the Rams down a little. However, this game is still a mismatch. Lay the points.

All "star-rated" selections monitored by the Sports Monitor of Oklahoma City (www.thesportsmonitor.com) and Trackpicks (www.trackpicks.com).
