The Oakland A’s beat the Texas Ranger 6-2 on Saturday as they are baseball’s hottest team playing afternoon games wining their last 10 out of 11. Texas couldn’t get their offense going yesterday and it will be tough to get it going today against the A’s All-star right hander Trevor Cahill will who looks to extend his 18 inning scoreless streak over his last 3 starts. The AL West leading Texas Rangers have only lost eight of their last 22 after the All-star break and will play the final game of this 3-game series today finishing a nine game road trip in which they can end a game above .500 with a win today. The Rangers will counter with Colby Lewis who is 9-8 with a 3.45 ERA but has struggled to get a win of late losing three in a row. Lewis has an ERA of 3.60 during this current losing streak and has received a lack of run support throughout his losing streak with Texas averaging 2 runs a game during that span.
The Rangers have struggled at the plate during this nine game road trip with a team batting average of .239. Texas will have to face Cahill who their hitters have struggled against as Elvis Andrus, Vladimir Guerrero and Nelson Cruz are a combined 6 for 38 verses him this season while Cahill is 2-0 with an ERA of .96 in his last 2 starts verses Texas.
