Duke Blue Devils vs. Pacific Tigers 11:30 pm EST
Duke –21 (2 Units)
The Tigers came out a little flat in their opener Friday against San Jose State, falling behind 23-13 before rallying for a 76-65 overtime victory. Falling behind early against Duke and it should be lights out early. The Blue Devils will come out strong tonight. Coach Mike Krzyzewski will seek more efficient play after Duke fell behind Detroit 12-0 and spent much of the remaining time catching up. Duke is young underneath but they still have the better inside game. Forward Luol Deng is among the top freshmen in the nation. Senior Nick Horvath, sophomore Michael Thompson, sophomore Shelden Williams and sophomore Shavlik Randolph comprise the remainder of a solid frontcourt. Duke is hurting in their backcourt as J.J. Redick, Daniel Ewing and Chris Duhon all have nagging injuries but all 3 will go tonight. Krzyzewski had his team practicing twice a day leading up to tonight so even he knows the importance of this tournament. As usual, this is a very deep Blue Devils team and even though they are fairly young, the very slow start in the first game will have them focused tonight.
